Registration.

Whether you're new to Durham or moving between DPS schools, your school counselor is one of the first people who can help.

Registering a student involves enrollment paperwork, proof of residency, immunization records, and — depending on the situation — transcripts or an IEP from a prior school. The process can feel heavy, especially in the middle of a move. Your school counselor can walk you through what's required and connect you with the district enrollment office.

If you're transferring between DPS schools, your current counselor will help coordinate the handoff so your student's records, schedule, and support plan move with them.
